Square Dance Group Costa Blanca Spain
From February until April 2012 we dance every Wednesday from 16.30h - 18.30h at our private house in Benitachell, Cumbre del Sol, Dalias 130.
What is Square Dance?
There are four couples who build a square and move with the music and dance figures which the caller tells them or sings to them. They are always called in English all over the world – in Germany too.
During a Square Dance evening there are about 120 small steps per minute done in quite a fast rhythm about 2 – 3 km. There are no dance moves like ballroom dance. Different little steps with a quarter or half-turn. This does not hurt the knees or ankles. The dancers make different moves according to the calls and in this way create new formations.
The Caller’s instructions have to be practiced and the dancers have to follow the caller very quickly. Therefore high concentration is needed which again is good for brain training.

Graduation Cumbre Twirlers
On March 9th, 2011 the Cumbre Twirlers had their graduation of seven of their new members. The Benidorm Square Dance Group "Villasol Squares" was invited and we had 28 dancers on this evening.
